Will My Insurance Cover Teeth Whitening?

Usually not.

Most insurance plans consider teeth whitening a cosmetic treatment, which means it typically isn't covered under standard dental insurance benefits.

Some employers offer Health Spending Accounts (HSAs) or similar benefit programs that may be used toward whitening treatment, but coverage varies by plan and I can't guarantee eligibility.
If you're unsure, it's always a good idea to check with your insurance provider or benefits administrator before treatment.

Currently, we do not have a dentist at our clinic, but this is something we’re looking to add in the future. We always advise our clients to visit a dentist regularly for exams and any necessary treatments. If you currently do not have a dentist we can recommend one based on your location and preferences.

I've Been Putting Off Dental Care. Is That Okay?

Absolutely. Life gets busy, and many people put off dental care for all kinds of reasons. You're always welcome here, and we'll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you. While I recommend seeing a dentist yearly for exams, I'll let you know if I notice anything that should be assessed by a dentist. You don't need perfect teeth to book an appointment.. just take the first step!

Can I Have Both a Dentist and a Dental Hygienist?

Absolutely. Many patients see their dentist for exams and treatment while choosing SnuggleTooth for their dental hygiene care. Dental hygienists and dentists have different roles and work together to support your oral health. If I notice anything that needs a dentist's attention, I'll explain it and can provide a referral if needed. If you don't have a dentist, I'm happy to help you find one.

The choice of who provides your dental hygiene care is yours. The Canadian Dental Hygienists Association's Client's Bill of Rights states that patients have the right to choose the registered dental hygienist providing their care.

Is There a Dentist at SnuggleTooth?

Not at this time. SnuggleTooth is an independent dental hygiene practice owned and operated by a Registered Dental Hygienist. I provide preventive services like cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatments, and teeth whitening. If I identify anything that requires a dentist's care, I'll explain my findings and help you arrange the appropriate follow-up. If you don't have a dentist, I'm happy to help you find one.
